CEIR Portal to Search Lost Mobile (ceir.gov.in)

Since 2017, the Telecommunication Department of India has been actively engaged in Central Equipment Identity Registration. Subsequently, they have crafted a robust portal enabling the direct blocking of lost or stolen phones, achieved through the utilization of straightforward techniques involving the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number. The IMEI serves as a unique identification number assigned to each handset sold in India over an extended period. This registration system presents a significant boon for individuals who have lost their cell phones or fallen victim to theft, offering an effective solution to safeguard their devices.

Benefits Of ceir.gov.in Portal To Track Lost Mobile

The primary advantage of the government's implementation of the CEIR Initiative is the ability to block lost or stolen mobile handsets. This is achieved through the tracking of mobile phone activities using the unique International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number assigned to each mobile handset in India. By initiating the blocking process through the Central Equipment Investigation Register, a stolen mobile handset becomes incapable of accessing network coverage from any telecom company in the foreseeable future. This measure serves as an effective deterrent against unauthorized use of lost or stolen devices.
